When we brought this tiny fluffy puppy home in September we knew we would love her enormously but we had no way of knowing the impact she would have on our lives. Poppy has filled a space in our family we didn’t even know was there. She has grown different bonds with each of us and her little personality continues to change as she gets older.
She has changed in appearance from this tiny little brown pup to this light coloured, ginger eared young lady who is still by all accounts a very small cockapoo!
T has enjoyed having a puppy from the word go and feeds her every day, has no problem clearing up her mess and loves to go on a long walk with her. In-fact as a family we have gone on more walks than ever before because we now have a reason to! I have taken up walking as a hobby with Poppy and managed to walk 72 miles in May!
Poppy has completed a puppy training course over 5 weeks which meant a commitment from us as a family to go every Sunday and keep on training Poppy at home inbetween. This course meant I learnt more than I ever knew Poppy could do and gave me the confidence that I could train her and showed everyone, not just me, that she was so willing to please at every turn and learnt very quickly.
During her first year Poppy has had doggie friends come to stay and been to stay at other doggie friends houses, She loves spending so much time with other dogs and plays and plays until we sometimes have to separate them!
Poppy celebrated her first Christmas and was not at all fazed by the Christmas tree appearing in the living room! Santa even came to Poppy too!
More recently Poppy went on holiday for a week to my best friends house while we went away and behaved beautifully! With many walks out and about by various different people she left us very proud to call her our dog and was completely bowled over when we came back!
We love our Poppy so much and can’t believe she is 1! Happy birthday Poppy, enjoy your special day and keep being the adorable, family loving, clever, loyal and gorgeous girl you are!
