Food, fitness and family- my weekly favourites!

Hi everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a great week so far. I’m well into week 3 on my 90 day plan now and still really enjoying it! Here is a recap of my favourites for this week!

So last weekend it was great weather and we had friends round to play in the garden, this was a great big bowl of fruit for everyone to snack on and the kids ate the lot!

Trail mix! This is dark chocolate, nuts, mixed berries and seeds and is my new favourite snack from the plan! One of these is 1 serving and it tastes so good!

Thai turkey mince- I batch cooked this and we had it for lunches with lots of lettuce, it was so flavoursome!

Spicy prawn burgers- these tasted epic! But this one was the only I got a picture of as the other two fell apart πŸ˜‚ Definitely one for the bloopers! We still ate them nevertheless and everyone enjoyed them.

Chicken chipotle salad- chipotle is my new favourite sauce! I honestly had never even heard of it and now I want it with everything! It comes in the tiniest jar you can imagine but you don’t need a lot and the bbq flavour just really makes any meal pop!

Spinach and feta frittata- Never made anything like this before and I was pretty pleased with how it turned out! We had this for a picnic Weds night instead of the usual unhealthy stuff and it was really good.

Chocolate pro-yo- now I sound like a pro, chocolate protein yoghurt, for everyone not on the plan πŸ˜‚, is bloody lovely! Topped with blueberries this another one of my new favourite snacks!

So I’ve still been fitting in 5 workouts a week and although I am still a hot, sweaty mess afterwards I am finding I don’t ache anywhere near as much the next day as I used to.

I’m putting this down to consistency, diet and protein. I’m not drinking protein shakes after every workout- you can if you want to- just a maximum of 3 times a week and along with the protein in my smoothies and yoghurts along with the rest of my diet it seems to really be helping.

I can’t believe I have one more week to go before it’s time to submit my results for cycle 1 and see if I have lost any inches, anywhere πŸ˜‚

Oh and I just got my fitness report from Map my Run for July and it’s not the most miles I’ve ever walked/ran by a long way but I’m really chuffed with it seeing as I worked a fair amount of over time and managed 5 HIIT workouts a week!

Me and T have signed up for a running challenge in August, just to keep her moving and keep our runs going, if she runs 5 miles in the whole month she will get a medal sent to her in the post. This doesnt sound like a lot but as we only run 1 mile at a time it means we have to go out 5 times at least which will be great training for our fun run in October!

T Moments

Last week T and me had a girly day, we went for breakfast and did a few errands and it was just really nice to hang out with her. Sometimes it’s a busy job being a mum and you don’t always remember to make time for the fun stuff.

This week I stopped prepping meals in the kitchen and went outside and played on her swing with her πŸ˜„Then we laid in her playroom colouring until bedtime, it was the best.

We have had pretty heavy thunderstorms on and off this week so haven’t always been able to get Poppy out but this was a wall I took Saturday round the lake. It was just me and Poppy and it was so windy!

Fun times

Saturday night we stayed over at my best friends house and had a bbq then tried out their new hot tub! It was such a fun evening and so can’t wait to do it again soon.

Poppy loves it there too πŸ˜„

I’d love to hear about a nice walk you took this week!
