My weekly favourites-Food family and Fitness!

Hi guys,

This has been a busy week with a black tie ball, family staying, a trip to the beach and coffee by the lake!

Here are my favourite foods of the last week:

Stuffed peppers with spicy turkey mince and mozzarella
Chicken, spinach and pearl barley soup
Steak and mushroom hash with a mustard and yoghurt sauce – even T really enjoyed this meal, minus the mustard!
Thai green curry bowl with prawns
Mexican chilli beans- Scott made this tonight and it was very spicy and you definitely needed the lime yoghurt!

This has been a good week for my fitness, 5x weighted HIIT workouts, 5.5 miles of walking and 1.4 miles of running.

Here are some of the highlights!

This was a walk me and T took tonight with Poppy, it was 2 miles in total and was a nice quiet walk round the country park near where we live. It was just nice to get out in the open even if it was a little chilly.

This was our Run the other day, it might not be fast but it was our fastest time so far! Every time we have gone since June we have got a little bit quicker and so finally on Monday we entered the Perkins Great Eastern Family Fun Run for the Charity Anna’s Hope. We are both really looking forward to doing it and will try to raise as much money as we can for the fantastic local charity.

Bank holiday Monday was a sunny but windy day and we decided to get up early and head for the seaside! We drove to Brancaster beach and had a really nice time walking along the sand dunes and watching the kite surfers. This was another 10000 steps I didn’t add to my mile total, we were pooped when we got home!

My workouts have been going great, I’ve decided to up my weights for some exercises and have used my 8kg kettle bell when I feel like I can but my proudest progression this week has to be the fact I can now squat jump for 40 seconds continuously! Little win for me!

Our weekend was a little bit exciting as we had my cousins 21st birthday party, a black tie ball. We have spent a while searching for outfits, booking hair appointments, and sourcing birthday presents so after driving to collect my Nan we were ready to go!

It was a great party and we all just let loose and enjoyed ourselves, not something we get to do very often! Needless to say Sunday was a quiet day 🀣

This was T Friday ready for her pony day where she jumped for the first time! 😁 Unfortunately we leave them at the stables all day so I didn’t see this exciting first but I am so pleased she has tried it 😊

Saturday morning we took my Nan out for coffee and a cookie, it was a short visit but it was nice to see her do something nice with T.

So that has been my week! We are into the last week of the summer holidays now and it’s been a blast. I love spending all this time with T but she is ready to go back to school on Tues and I am ready to get back to routine and hopefully squeezing a few more hours in at work while T is at school. Normality will soon be resumed and we are ready for it.

When was the last time you got dressed up for a family occasion?

Are you ready for the summer holidays to be over?

Thanks for reading

Lou x

    1. Thank you 😁 I love trying new things all the time and experimenting with foods that I wouldn’t normally put together.
It’s been a long time since I had to get that dressed up! It was so fun to do it though, maybe again in another 10 years πŸ˜‚
End of summer holidays can only be a good thing I think, not just because I’m running out of money πŸ˜„ But because my girl gets her chance to start new things at school and a whole other year can begin.

  2. I love that your ‘being busy’ is the beach and coffee by the lake haha!! I honestly aspire to that! πŸ™‚ Just found your blog and I find it so interesting! Love reading about other people’s fitness/health journeys as I also am currently on one!
